Blue Jays 2022 Promotions

How do you decide which Blue Jays games you want to attend in a season? Do you plan around special events such as a birthday or anniversary? Do you pick the best or most interesting opponents, like Shohei Ohtani and the Angels? Do you try and line it up to catch the Jays’ best starting pitcher (which should be almost every game this year, thanks to a revamped rotation)?

Or do you pick out the best promotions and giveaways to add to your collection?

I won’t lie, back in the days when I lived in downtown Toronto and had a 15- or 20-game flex pack, the bobblehead giveaways were at the top of my list. I amassed a pretty significant collection, including Marcus Stroman, Aaron Sanchez, Jose Bautista, Jose Reyes, Edwin Encarnacion, Russell Martin, Troy Tulowitzki, and Brett Lawrie. The only one I have of a player who is actually on the current roster is Lourdes Gurriel Jr, which was given away during a weekday afternoon when I walked into the building 10 minutes late with a $20 scalper ticket. A far cry from the days when you had to line up by 10 a.m. to get in as soon as doors opened on a Sunday.

The Blue Jays have released their promotions schedule for the 2022 season, so let’s look a look at some of the highlights. Note that bobbleheads and other giveaways are limited to the first 15,000 fans with the exception of “Specialty Ticket” games.

Friday April 8: Blue Jays cap (45,000)

Saturday April 9: George Springer Bobblehead
